Amelia Smith
Originally from a small suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Amelia holds degrees in clarinet performance from the University of Minnesota, the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis, and the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Her former instructors include Alexander Fiterstein, Howard Klug, Dr. Robyn Jones, and Timothy Zavadil. Dr. Smith has collaborated with members of the Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, and frequently performs with chamber and orchestral groups across the Twin Cities. She has placed in several different competitions, including first prize in the graduate division of the Schubert Club Competition. Amelia is also a passionate and dedicated educator, having taught private and group clarinet lessons for several years in both Tennessee and Minnesota. She recently held an appointment at the University of Mississippi serving as interim clarinet faculty. Having just relocated to Los Angeles, she is eager to explore and get connected with the musical community.
