about the artist

Linda Mitchell

I have over thirty years experience in teaching students how to grow, improve and keep their voice. The daughter of a big band leader, I have been around music since birth. I studied the Bel Canto method in High School and graduated from UCLA in Music Education. I did my masters study in Vocal Performance at WSU. I started studying opera and art song in high school. I was involved in musical theater at UCLA. I toured nationally with a folk-rock group as one of the featured soloists. Michael Omartian, who became a legendary producer, was our composer and arranger. I started my vocal studio when raising a family in Santa Barbara, CA. I taught vocal training at a community college at the time. I later taught at Green River Community College in Auburn, WA for four years. Through the years, I have helped students of all ages, skills and ambitions attain their goals. One of my recent students, Lana Condor, starred in a Netflix movie, ``To all the Boys I've Loved Before``, which has been enormously successful. I helped her gain a great deal of self-confidence through vocal lessons with me. I directed musical theater for seven years, working with performers of all ages. I was the vocal coach for such productions as ``Seven Brides for Seven Brothers``, ``Annie``, ``Peter Pan``, Pirates of Penzance``, to name a few. I bring to my students experience, a successful track record, thorough knowledge of the voice and a great love for what I do!!
